This is a basic padi kolam where the centre design contributes to the above genre. The square design is drawn with four lines and later extended to any design. The symmetry is maintained and the lines are drawn uniformly to form a design while the centre is filled with colour or design is added. The outer design can be drawn with lines or curves to extend the kolam. The lotus form an inevitable in padikolam. This padikolam is coloured with yellow and the lotus flowers with pink colour. Draw this kolam on any day and you can use kavi-red soil to make it traditional.
