Kolam – The floor art.
Kolam translates to beauty in Tamil language. An art which is drawn at the entrance to welcome the Goddess Lakshmi Devi who is the diety for wealth.
This age old tradition of drawing kolams has passed down through centuries by the mother to daughter.
Kolams aren’t documented earlier and now this era has the privilege to document the amaranthine art.

Kolams of India – a platform to record the world’s oldest epiphermal art of South Indian to the next generation.

Kolams are diversified with different styles of drawing method and techniques. Kolams are drawn with a matrix of dots which guide to draw an element either by joining the dots or looping around.
